The Children’s Museum of Brussels organizes school visits for primary-level students. School visits are the best way to discover our unique Museum. The children are taken care of by our facilitators in small groups which allow the children to express themselves.
The Museum’s goal is indeed to foster growth through experience, play, dialogue, and cooperation. We employ a participatory, psychologically grounded approach to early learning and development.
Our activities are adapted for children from all types of educational backgrounds and are tailored to each grade level, supporting the competencies targeted by the common core curriculum.
The Children’s Museum celebrates its 50 years of experience. It’s a pioneer amongst the hands on museums of Europe.
The Children’s Museum drives a project unique in Belgium: a space designed entirely for—and inspired by—children. Here, immersive sets, wooden games, and interactive scenarios allow children to discover and deepen their understanding of themselves and the world around them.

Program
The Children’s Museum proposes a very specific program dedicated to the primary school children (we welcome children from 3rd year kindergarten on Wednesday morning only).
Each Museum animator takes care of a group of maximum 15 children and guide them through the exhibition.
The Museum animator guide, listen to and play with the children. They always try to match with their interests and school level.
The emphasis is put on the expression of emotions.
At noon the children gather to the cafeteria for their lunch break. If weather permits, the children can also play in the playground located just next to the Museum.
